Do we need a car?

When visiting Umbria, we strongly advise having a car at your disposal to fully explore the region - it's undoubtedly the most effective mode of transportation. The nearest train and bus station is Umbertide, and schedules can be found on the Trenitalia website. Il Posto is a mere 15-minute car ride from the station. If you require a driver or airport/station transfers, we are more than happy to arrange this for you.


Is Il Posto good for kids?

Definitely! The property boasts a grand swimming pool and ample play areas. A colossal swing is also available, and the surrounding area offers plenty of exciting activities for both kids and adults. Moreover, if parents seek a well-deserved break, Il Posto can arrange for a skilled babysitter to come straight to the apartment.


Do you have a pool?

Yes we do! We have a very spacious pool of 90 square meters. Lots of tanning-spots as well as shaded areas under the majestic trees.


Is Il Posto open for public?

No, Il Posto is not open for public. Il Posto is open exclusively for guests who have rented (parts of) the property.


What's to do in the area?

Discover the enchanting region of Umbria, dotted with charming medieval towns, breathtaking natural parks and serene lakes. In addition to the smaller towns, you'll also encounter the cities of Assisi and Perugia, where endless shopping opportunities await. Whether you're a sporty adventurer or a curious cultural explorer, Umbria offers something for everyone. And if you're up for a day trip, the vibrant cities of Rome and Florence are just a two-hour journey away, while the Adriatic coast of Le Marche is only a 90-minute drive. What about the climate in Umbria?

Umbria is often referred to as 'The Green Heart of Italy'. Once you step foot in this breathtaking place, you'll quickly understand why. The spring season in Umbria is warm and inviting, but can also be a bit rainy at times. The months of January, February, March, November, and December tend to be wet and chilly. April and May, on the other hand, are typically sunny with temperatures averaging around 21 degrees Celsius during the day. Although you may occasionally encounter some rain, most days are filled with glorious sunshine. As June arrives, summer begins to set in, bringing with it mainly dry and warm weather with temperatures hovering around 25 degrees Celsius. July and August are the hottest months, with temperatures reaching approximately 32 degrees Celsius. As September and October come around, the landscape transforms into a pallet of fantastic colors, and the weather is still enjoyable yet less hot. While you may experience some rainy days during this time, the majority of your days will be filled with blue skies.


Where is the closest supermarket?

Located just 10 minutes from Il Posto, lies Umbertide, Here, you will find four distinct supermarkets, pharmacies, and weekly food and clothing markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Additionally, you will discover an abundance of restaurants featuring local cuisine, tempting pizzerias, charming wineries, and tipical coffee bars.


Are there hike or mountainbike possibilities?

There's an abundance of options! You'll find numerous hiking trails, some that are effortless and others that are perfect for the more experienced hiker. Additionally, there are plenty of mountain bike paths to explore. You have the choice to bring your own (electric) mountain bike or request one from us upon your arrival!


Is there a restaurant at Il Posto?

At present, our dream of opening a restaurant is yet to be realized. However, we have a charming little shop on the property that caters to all your breakfast and aperitivo needs. In addition, each apartment comes equipped with its own kitchen. An outdoor cooking area with barbecue is also available. Should you desire, we can also provide breakfast and dinner services upon request.


Can we organise a tour, event or retreat?

We're thrilled to team up with you! Are you interested in a fully planned journey through Umbria, complete with breakfasts, delicious lunches, delightful dinners, exciting activities, and transportation? Alternatively, are you seeking a stunning venue to host your wedding or retreat? We are happy to hear your ideas.


Is there a natural swimming spot?

Only a 40-minute drive away from Il Posto lies the stunning Lake Trasimeno, the fourth largest lake in Italy, offering lots of options for water sports enthusiasts. In just 90 minutes, you can head to the Adriatic coast in Le Marche and enjoy its white sand beaches and crystal-clear waters. Alternatively, in the direction of Rome, at an equal distance, you can discover the majestic volcanic Lake Bolsena, which is an absolute must-visit.


What if I am not crazy about wine and fine-dine?

No worries! Whether you're a wine and food enthusiast or a beer and barbecue lover, you are very welcome at Il Posto. And if you prefer water, that's totally fine too. We are very happy to share our reccomendations with you for the best pizzeria's & trattoria's.


Is Il Posto weelchair-friendly?

Yes. Il Posto offers a wheelchair-friendly apartment for two people. Our property features a convenient and accessible path that accommodates wheelchair users, allowing you to explore the surroundings with ease.


Can we book a daytrip or excursion?

We have the expertise to plan the trip you have in mind. Are you interested in exploring the charming regions of Umbria and Tuscany to uncover their delightful wines and local delicacies? Or do you have a fascination for the medieval towns? We can also arrange visits to the breathtaking Sibilini mountains or other stunning natural attractions.
